Unplug, slow down and connect with nature
Unplug from the daily grind and connect with nature at The Ridge. It's time to plan a break, not just from work but from all the stresses of your busy life. Take some time off and SLOW DOWN!
Winters are a beautiful time of year to enjoy an invigorating country escape in the Gloucester and Barrington Tops region.
The Ridge is perched high against Gloucester’s iconic “Bucketts” range, above the frost line. Wake to see the mists in the valley, clear blue skies above and one of our friendly wallabies hopping about in the paddock. Another wonderful day is dawning.
Eco-cabin ready for first guests in July
After some delays in construction our first Eco-Cabin is nearing completion. It is overlooking the beautiful Barrington and Gloucester River valleys and pale blue mountains beyond. The sunrises and sunsets are truly spectacular and the night skies dazzling.
“A Perfect Place To Slow Down.” The self-catering one bedroom Eco-cabin combines luxury, privacy and an up-close-to-nature experience. Designed for couples wanting a unique rural escape, the Eco-cabin incorporates energy efficient design, solar power, water self-sufficiency and the use of sustainable and recycled building products. The Eco-cabin is about 300 metres from the house and accessed by one of our dedicated golf carts. Contact us on [email protected] for more details or to make booking enquiries.
A BUSHWALKER'S UTOPIA
In March 2016 urbanlist.com
ranked the Gloucester Tops Circuit as Walk #4 in its list of Sydney’s Best
“A bushwalker’s utopia, Barrington Tops is a not-so remote section of NSW offering hikers prepared to get off the beaten track the sweetest of rewards.”
“Gloucester Tops Circuit is the standout as it combines three of the park’s best walks into a manageable 7km trek. From towering snow gum forests and moss carpets to lively swamp wallabies and grey kangaroos, it’s an almighty experience that is best included as part of a long weekend of 4x4ing, mountain biking and wild swimming in the National Park.”
The walk starts at the Gloucester Falls picnic area which is a bit less than an hour’s drive from The Ridge, via the Gloucester Tops Road.

Make a full day of your adventure by packing a hearty picnic lunch. Don’t forget to take a hat, sunscreen and water.

AFTERNOONS AT THE RIDGE
One of the great features at The Ridge is the outdoor fire-pit. Enjoy sitting next to the crackling fire in the late afternoon as the sun goes down and the cool evening envelopes the valleys below. As the sunlight goes, the sky slowly changes colour and the emerging stars add brilliance to the evening.
