Accommodations:

What accommodation options do you offer?

We have two styles of stays:

  • The Ridge House – 5‑bedroom architect‑designed home for families & groups.

  • Eco‑Cabins (Coucal & Bellbird) – private, self‑contained cabins for couples. Explore House features or Eco‑Cabins.

Is The Ridge family‑friendly?

Absolutely. The Ridge House is ideal for multi‑generational stays with two living areas, wide corridors, level‑entry showers and fenced outdoor areas.  Infants under 2 YO can stay for free, provided that the parent / carer provides the travel cot and bedding.

The Eco-Cabins no not cater for children.

How many people can stay?

  • The Ridge House – can sleep up to 10 people in 3 x Queen bedrooms and 2 x Twin Single bedrooms. 
    Bookings are confirmed and paid for a specific number of guests.
    Extra guests can be added at the last minute, with Approval, at a per person per night cost.  

  • Each Eco-Cabin can sleep a maximum of two people.  If requested one Eco-Cabin can be set up as a Twin Single.

Is the property accessible?

The Ridge House features a single‑level layout, wide corridors, level‑entry showers and easy vehicle access. We provide clear pre‑arrival information for guests with mobility needs.

What self-catering facilities are available?

The House & Eco-Cabins are fitted out with a well-equipped kitchens, fridge, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and coffee pot, BBQ and all cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery you will need to cook up your own gourmet meals.  The house kitchen includes a large oven, gas cooktop and microwave, while the Eco-Cabins have gas cooktop and combo microwave / grill oven.

Do I need to bring my own sheets and towels?

No, The Ridge provides all bed and bath line.

Are pets allowed?

Yes. Both the House and Eco‑Cabins are pet‑friendly. Spacious decks, bushland surrounds and walking trails make it ideal for pet‑inclusive travel. See Pet Policy & Conditions.

Is the property off‑grid?

Yes. We operate fully off‑grid using solar power, battery storage and rainwater harvesting. Guests enjoy full comfort, air‑conditioning, heating, appliances, mostly without restrictions. We do ask guests to not run air-conditioners overnight, otherwise the power system batteries may be drained.

Does the property use rainwater?

The Ridge captures its own rainwater for use in the kitchen and bathrooms.  If you have any concerns about drinking stored rainwater, either boil it before drinking, or bring your own bottled water.

Is Wi‑Fi available?

Yes. Free high‑speed Wi‑Fi is available in all accommodation.

Is there mobile reception?

Yes. There is "direct line of sight" to the local mobile towers and reception is strong across the property.

Is there a supermarket nearby?

Yes. Gloucester has Woolworths, IGA, bakeries, butchers and bottle shops, all within a short drive.

Do you provide firewood?

Yes, for a Fee. Firewood bundles can be pre‑ordered at least three days before arrival.

Alternatively, guests can purchase bags of firewood and kindling at local service stations and supermarkets.

Do you provide pantry basics?

Yes. Tea, coffee, sugar, oil, salt and pepper are provided.

Location, Access & Arrival:

Where is the property located? 

The Ridge is only a few minutes' drive from the town of Gloucester. See Contact page for address and directions.

Do you send pre‑arrival information?

Yes. All guests receive detailed direction, instructions, local guides and a personalised welcome message.

Is the road suitable for all vehicles?

Yes. The final section is unsealed but well‑maintained. 2WD vehicles, SUVs and sedans can access year‑round.

What are check‑in and check‑out times?

Check‑in: after 2pm Check‑out: by 10am.  Early / late options may be available on request.

How do I access the property?

You’ll receive detailed instructions and a welcome message before arrival. The Ridge operates a contactless check-in with keys in lock box.  Guests can check-in any time after 2pm on their day of arrival.

 

Guest Experience:

What can I do during my stay?

Panoramic views, wildlife watching, walking trails, firepit evenings, stargazing and complete privacy. Close to Barrington Tops, swimming holes, scenic drives and Gloucester’s sporting and recreational facilities, cafes, clubs, pubs and other dining experiences.

Do you offer any extras?

Yes, cheese & fruit platters, firewood bundles and curated “on‑request” services can be arranged with at least three days' notice required.

 

Sustainability:

How is The Ridge environmentally responsible?

We operate fully off‑grid, harvest all water onsite, use passive solar design, minimise waste and protect wildlife corridors. Recent upgrades reduced generator usage to below 5% annually.

Do I need to limit water or power use?

No. Our systems are designed to provide full comfort without restrictions. We do ask guests to not run air-conditioners overnight, otherwise the power system batteries may be drained. There is over 100,00 litres of rainwater storage capacity.

I have an Electric Vehicle; how can I charge it?

We do not allow EV charging at The Ridge, however there a number of fast charging stations in Gloucester township, including at the Woolworths supermarket car park.
