Our Barrington Tops National Park rainforests are part of the Gondwana Rainforests World Heritage Area; the most extensive strip of diverse rainforest anywhere on earth.

You can explore the rainforest on one of the park's many walking tracks, like the Honeysuckle Forest track, the Rocky Crossing walk or the Antarctic Beech Forest track. 

Try the exhilarating thrill of white-water kayaking, mountain biking and abseiling.

Or take a scenic drive and maybe stop off and taste some the local boutique wines.

We had stunning panoramic views of the property, staying at a very spacious venue. Dan’s instructions were great, easy to find the property. He also provided detailed instructions about everything you needed to know. There was also a large fire pit so we had a beautiful fire going, and a sunset barbeque. Very well stocked kitchen in terms of appliances and cookware - so you have the option to bake and cook large meals with ease.

There were quite a few activities to do in the area. We did the Buccan Buccan scenic walk and drive from The Ridge House. There’s also a great winery 10 mins from the property run by a really charismatic local called Gloucester River Wines which was one of the highlights of the trip.

The entire place was extremely quiet and peaceful, so definitely recommend for a refresh. We took both our dogs there, who had an absolute ball.

Great place to stay. Amazing view and plenty of wildlife to see. Being north facing it gets the sun all day so you get to watch the sunrise and sunset.

Cabin is awesome. Everything you need and very surprised how warm it was inside for Winter.  Highly recommend for a weekend getaway.

We loved our stay at The Ridge House. It's a spectacular spot to enjoy nature and relax. The views are amazing and it is so peaceful and quiet. The house is very comfortable and has everything you could need. The bath with a view was wonderful. We were lucky to enjoy great weather while we were there. In the morning there was a stunning blanket of fog which we could watch travel across the land like a river. At night we had clear skies while sitting around the fire pit and we could see millions of stars. Just beautiful! Highly recommend a stay here.

The Ridge Eco Cabin was truly a place for us to relax and wind-down for the weekend. 
Arriving on the Friday, we were able to enjoy the scenery from the deck, and get to know our surrounds, including views of the grazing cows and sheep in nearby paddocks, and the mountain range. 
The kitchen had a full suite of utensils, pots and pans, so we could cook up a dinner together and enjoy the evening by the fire. 
Despite feeling away from any hustle & bustle at the ridge, a venture to town is less than a 10 minute drive. Gloucester has some great shops in town - we devoured a toastie and coffee from The Common. Highly recommend! 
We visited Faulls Ridge winery which is nearby, and the owner was an amazing hostess, sharing family stories while we enjoyed wine tasting over a cheeseboard. 
Our most special moment was at sunset at the Cabin, where my partner set up a picnic rug near the fire pit and proposed. The intimacy to have the space to our own and enjoy the moment was truly magic and something we will never forget. 
Before we returned home on the Sunday, I enjoyed a sublime morning bath. The views from the bath are second to none, and you can bask in the natural daylight while relaxing in the tub. 
We will definitely be returning and can’t wait to tell our friends and family to visit, too!

We had the most amazing long weekend in this little gem. We stayed in the cabin and it definitely exceeded all of our expectations. The place is spacious, has a view to die for, and although you’re only a few minutes away from the shops, you feel like you’re the only ones on planet earth (which is exactly what we wanted).

We had the most beautiful skies filled with stars and sat outside at the bonfire. We literally mentioned how beautiful the place is a Zillion times during our stay! would highly recommend to anyone looking to get away, enjoy nature and explore surroundings!

The town is super cute and you’ve got the national parks near by definitely worth exploring. Even the drive to Gloucester tops is breathtaking! We cannot wait to come back!!!

We had a fabulous short break with friends over 3 rainy days at The Ridge house. When we walked in the door and started unpacking our stuff, we were discussing when we could book another stay we were so impressed with the facilities.

The house is even better than the photos, the view is spectacular, the elevated location couldn't be better, just a very short drive to town, but far enough away to feel totally private and relaxed.

The kitchen is really well equipped, wifi worked well and so did Netflix. Dan was great to communicate with and there was plenty of info on hand to assist during our stay. We're definitely going back!

Honestly this place is breath-taking!
My fiancé and I enjoyed a mid week break up in the cabin and it exceeded all our expectations! Surrounded by beautiful scenery, ergonomic kitchen, stunning shower and bath! The perfect place to unwind.

The Ridge is a beautifully appointed cabin in a relatively isolated property just outside the township of Gloucester. This place is very quiet and comfortable with fantastic views. Night sky under the outdoor fire pit is magical. This place is also pet-friendly where Roxy, my well-behaved Rottweiler, had a great time. Host was extremely helpful, communicative and receptive. Perfect getaway!

We recently returned from our 2nd stay at The Ridge.  From the moment you walk in, you feel like you're in a modern-day palace!!  This much loved and meticulously "eco" planned home feels unpretentiously casual yet sophisticated and modern. 

It is FANTASTIC for families or groups of friends who need to be together yet have some "space" to be on their own.  Our first stay was just 2 people (couple) so it did feel a bit "big" but that wasn't a bad thing.  The 2nd stay was 5 people and we mostly spent time in the main lounge/dining/kitchen area however when the footy came on, the 2 boys were happy cheering in the other smaller cosier lounge (without bothering the serious "girls talk") in the main lounge.

The beds/linen are all 1st class and SO Comfy (I even wrote down the name of the mattress and linen). My sister had one of the single beds and she was a little cold (despite the overabundance of extra donnas and blankets) as there was no electric blanket like we had (however her room was on the shady side, whereas our western side rooms got sun till late which made them extra toasty).

The home was spotlessly clean and delightful on the eye *that view is amazing!

We loved the firepit on the last night and as daggy as it sounds -- yes.....a fireside sing-along and deep "meaning of life and the cosmos" rolled in with the magical Gloucester mist. 

Dan has been such a wonderful host and he happened to be staying close by on both occasions and was happy to help us with a couple of things with the TV etc.

I would highly recommend this magical getaway - we really feel so lucky to have stayed here.  Many thanks

'The Eco-Cabin is in a great elevated spot with wonderful valley views. You are surrounded by lush, beautiful nature and exotic birds‘ sounds. The cabin is spacious and spotless and even while it‘s just ‚one room‘ it does not feel like. Also our 4-legged family member enjoyed the stay.  While the main house is visible from the cabin it‘s quite far away, so that you still can enjoy your privacy.  Communicating with Dan was very easy and fast. We did stay for 3 nights on our way up north to Byron and definitely will stay here again. Thanks for having us.'

The moment we were approaching the house we could sense something special. The house is perfectly positioned with views as far as the eye can see. Beautiful mountains, hills, valleys and cattle await. We woke one morning to a Kangaroo outside our bedroom window with a joey in its pouch before hopping away. The fire pit was a great attraction every evening as we surrounded it mesmerised as the logs burnt away. 

This house has everything you really need. It also appeared to have its own weather pattern as it is so high above the local townships. We loved that the view with cloud formations, or fog/mist would continuously change never allowing the view to be the same.

We loved that the property was off the grid with its own solar panelled electricity and water from the rainwater tanks.

Some added surprises were the Australian King Parrots in abundance and the beautiful Green Tree Frogs which the kids adored. If you like star gazing go outside with no lights and look up. I doubt you will see more stars than this location particularly if you come from the city.

Dan thank you so much for the experiences we encountered at The Ridge. It is evident that a lot of thought went into the design of the house. Well done. The biggest disappointment I suspect which most people would have is leaving. I would have liked to stay longer. A second visit is on the agenda.

☆☆☆☆☆ What a wonderful place to stay in a great location!!  We woke up to sound of kookaburras & relaxed on the deck looking out over hills.  The cabin is only a short drive into Gloucester & handy for a day trip to Gloucester or Barrington Tops to enjoy one of the many walks available.  Would recommend the cabin to anyone looking to get away from it all in a very stylish location!

This place was incredible. The girlfriends and I had a great time, especially laughing over the full glass shower and bath - which we had to experience even for a non romantic getaway!  We brought two dogs who also had an amazing time. The place is within walking distance from the main strip in Gloucester too (though you can drive easily) - and the dogs loved the walk and the nearby park too!
